New BJ's for 99 Cents...or... I Hate Old Expensive BJ's

Gotta love Chinatown...They know how to draw a crowd. I have no clue why these signs are on a temple...

Francis Bacon at MOMA, NYC

This is Bacon's final triptych from 1991. He died a year later. This was part of a show at MOMA highlighting paintings in the collection from 1965 to the present. I have always been a fan of Bacon's since I really knew what art was. I am considering a tattoo of his work. If it can be done, Chops at Hold Fast in Brooklyn can do it. I may get it as a happy graduation present to me when I am done with school in May...

Comicbook Nerd Alert

Yes, I read comics. I got my first comic in 1986 and have been hooked ever since. This the cover of Wolverine #55, the death of Sabertooth. I love comics because of the combination of art and stories and it doesn't get any better than this cover. It is a homage to the great crime, supernatural covers from the 1950's by EC comics, the publishers of Tales From the Crypt. Beyond cool...

Black Squirrel

Walking through Thompkins Square Park on the Lower East Side today I saw this little black squirrel. So damn cute. I had to take a shot.

My Man's Latest Quilt

These are some photos of the queen sized quilt that my partner gave to his parents for their 35th wedding anniversary this past weekend. He worked for nine months on this bad boy. It was pieced and appliqued by had. He quilted it by machine. It is amazing. He is one talented guy. Hot, creative, talented, and he puts up with me. I am a lucky guy...

Protest at Union Square Today

The protest was against Mayor Bloomberg's proposed law that would prohibit more than two people from using visual recording equipment for more than thirty minutes without a permit and one million dollars of insurance. Seems to me another way for this town to trample on our constitutional rights...
It was a small protest and very quiet. I thought more people would be out in the streets on this one. Never underestimate the apathy of the populace. On a bright note I met Atila, a fellow flickr aholic. Cool as shit. Always good to see people in real life.

This is Casper, a sweet puppy that was there.

Atila looking cool...
