Some New Subway Sketches and New Directions

I am more satisfied with how my sketching is progressing. Practice makes perfect I guess.


This is a new direction I have been pursuing as of late. Cotton thread sewn through handmade cotton paper. The image is from last year in Iran. Two young men, ages thirteen and fourteen I believe, were hanged because they were convicted of homosexual sex. Here is a link to a lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender group in Iran.

My First Attempt at Embroidery


My partner is a quilter and a knitter. I have been surrounded by fabric art for most of our relationship. Red work is a quilting technique that I was drawn to because of the line work involved. Of course I took this idea to gay land. I dont know where this will go. It was fun.
